Successful 2023: moving on to the next steps

Since this project launched, we worked on unravelling the socioecological complexities and dynamics in the Ericht catchment river.

From July to December, our primary focus was on actively engaging with various stakeholders throughout the catchment area, delving into their perspectives and exploring their interactions with the environment.

As we transition into 2024, our attention has shifted towards the development of our strategy game. Below, you'll discover our key findings, which are continuously evolving with ongoing updates.

 1. The local community of Blairgowrie showed great interest in seeing more native woodland in their surroundings.

2. Various actors expressed concerns about flood risk, changes in salmon population as a consequence of river bank management, deer pressure, low integration between farmers and local market, and disinterest in afforestation.
